Blue Ocean Foods (“OBOF”) was founded in Southern California in 2011 with the goal of introducing Americans to a diet of natural food products which have benefited the Japanese with long, healthy life. OBOF imports and markets carefully selected high quality natural food products produced in Okinawa, Japan. Okinawa is well-known as a land of longevity, one of the “Blue Zones”. Apparently, their unique diet and food intake are big factors for being it.
As of June, 2013, OBOF has introduced13 different Okinawan food products which can be purchased at Nijiya Market. The Nijiya Group owns the Japanese natural food retailer, Nijiya Market, which has 13 outlets and is located in three states: California, New York and Hawaii. Our natural salt, Nuti-Masu, has been promoted since 2012 via our subsidiary Life Ocean Salt, lifeoceansalt.com. Since its introduction to the United States, our customers have expanded beyond consumers to restaurants where the salt is promoted and used as a cuisine differentiator. Moving forward, we have a two-pronged approach: (1) bring more unique, health beneficial natural food products to the North American market, and (2) expand distribution channels to more retail outlets.
